Club Shoot

Club shoots are open to both members and non-members, however these sessions are only suitable for shotgun certificate holders who are both confident and safe (if you are unsure about whether you can come along to an Open Shoot just call the office - 01926 491 948).

Club Members benefit from discounted rates on all disciplines – if you are intending to shoot more than once a month it will be worth becoming a club member. You can join at any time during the year - fill in an application form, bring it along to a shoot and you will get your membership card.

We use the latest generation of Claymate counting controllers on all of our Sporting and Skeet traps. This allows the shooter a huge degree of flexibility as you can choose exactly how many targets you would like to shoot. The system uses a smart card system that keeps track of how many targets you have seen. If you become a member you will get your own Claymate card (this is also used as your membership card) this gives you a big discount and you can head straight out to shoot - no need to queue up at the start.

Our ground uses top of the range automatic traps from the likes of Promatic and Laporte and Clay Pigeon Company targets to ensure excellent reliability and consistency. Wedgnock Shooting Ground is run by shooters for shooters, and as such, we feel that we have created a quality shooting ground with a friendly and vibrant atmosphere.

Wedgnock also sells a range of cartridges; although shooters are also welcome to bring their own. No shot larger than a 7½ is allowed on any discipline, but plastic wads are permitted.

Sunday and Weekday Mornings 

We are open every morning except for Saurday and Monday's. Morning shoots prove to be a popular fixture for clay shooters throughout the Midlands. We offer a potential of 16 stands of Sporting, Down The Line, Skeet and Sportrap.

Shooting starts at 10.00 and ends at 13.00. Shooters are welcome to arrive earlier to book onto a shooting discipline and enjoy a coffee and bacon roll (our caterer is available on Sunday mornings).

Wedgnock Shooting Ground has a reputation for providing a challenging and frequently changing English Sporting layout. The Sunday morning shoot is normally based around 16 stands and you can shoot as many clays as you wish at each stand.

The sporting layout can incorporate targets from our 80-foot high tower and 50-foot hydraulic platform. The layout is spread around twenty acres of varied countryside including ponds, banks and woodland.

Hard standing is provided throughout with paths leading to all stands. Most of the Sporting stands are covered to ensure a comfortable shooting experience for both shooters and spectators even if the rain is pouring down! The Compact Sporting and DTL are also full covered.

Tuesday Evening Club Shoots

Tuesday evening shoots operate all year round. Shooting starts at 17.30 and ends at 20.00.

Between the months of April and October (British Summer Time) a full range of disciplines are offered (Sporting, Skeet, DTL, ABT and Sportrap).

Winter Tuesday Evenings

During the Winter months (daylight saving hours) our floodlit clay shooting starts! (17.30 - 20.00 every Tuesday).

The following disciplines will be on offer:

• SNOOKER (Rules for Clay Snooker)

Club Shoot Prices

English Sporting Layout (up to 16 stands are used - you can shoot as many targets as you wish). Members @ £0.25 per clay (non-members @ £0.30)

Sportrap (25 targets). Members @ £6.00 per round (non-members @ £7.00)

Skeet (25 targets). Members @ £6.00 per round (non-members @ £7.00)

Down the Line (25 targets). Members @ £6.00 per round (non-members @ £7.00)

Snooker (25 targets). Members @ £6 per round (non-members @ £7) - only available on Tuesday evenings during daylight saving times of year.

Cartridges are available for £6.00/ box 12g). £7.00/box 20g

Membership up to 31/1/21 costs  £35

Members receive their own Claymate card. This can be used as a standard count-up card (a tally is kept throughout your shoot and you pay at the end) or you can pre-load you card with £250 of credit - this will give you 1,170 targets (21.4 pence per clay)!
